BMRA TMTC

Property Location

From Gilmer turn east onto State Highway 155 North (this is a stoplight). Go approximately five (5) miles and as you start to climb a hill look for a brown sign on the left that says "Barnwell Mountain Recreation Area" and the "Barnwell Mountain ORV Park" sign on the right. You have to watch for the turn off because it is at the crest of the hill and you will miss it if you are not paying attention. This brown sign is directly across the highway from the entrance. Turn right, go through the gate and up the hill.... you can't miss it.

Hours of Operation

BMRA is open every weekend from 8:00AM Friday to 6:00PM Sunday (dusk) unless otherwise noted on the home page as "BMRA CLOSED". Everyone must exit the park by 6:00PM Sunday. A gate guard is on duty Friday and Saturday night from 8:00PM until midnight for after hours access. The park may be closed during inclement weather or for scheduled events. For more date specific information, please visit the Events Page.

Reservations

Barnwell Mountain has two cabins and five bunkhouses available for rent. See the Calendar and Reservations link above for availability and reservations. Guests are encouraged to make reservations early and on-line rather than wait until the office is open Friday through Sunday. Our cabins are popular and are normally booked well in advance.

RV Campground

The RV camp ground is located approximately one mile south of the office within the park. We have twenty sites that provide a single 30 amp plug and can accomodate any size RV. No water of sewer connections are available. Water is available at the park office or at the pavilion that is about half way to the RV camp ground. The electric sites are available on a first come-first served basis. Rarely has the electric campground been full but on holiday weekends you may want to contact the office to be sure.
